APT bug found in original Peppermint 7 Respin

This bug has now been fixed in the respin re-release Peppermint-7-20161201

Team Peppermint have discovered a bug in the 16.04 version of APT (1.2.15) which causes the installer to crash with certain locale/keyboard combinations during installation of Peppermint 7 Respin.

As this could result in an unbootable system for a small number of users we’ve taken down the Peppermint 7 Respin ISO’s whilst a fix is applied.

For those already trying to install the Peppermint 7 Respin and getting a crash during the install process, there is a workaround here:

We apologies for any inconvenience caused, and will have a fixed ISO available shortly.

Meanwhile the original version of Peppermint 7 can be downloaded from the “Previous Versions” page here:

Have you tried the open source AMD/ATI drivers ? .. so far I’ve found them pretty on par with the older FGLRX.

I’ve downloaded and tried to install Peppermint 7 Respin (64bit), but at the point of it writing the grub data it crashes out. I get a message that it cannot write the data.
    386 version install s perfectly!
Any suggestions please? I’m using an Acer Aspire 5560 laptop

Have you tried installing the 64bit version without getting the updates during the install ?
If that doesn’t work, can you please take this up on the support forum:

      TIA.

    Solved!
The drive had previously had Windows installed.
Ran Peppermint LIve then GParted to delete ALL partitions
and created a single partition and formatted to ext 4.
Rebooted and installed without getting updates.
    Installed first time

On my old PB EasyNote c3 laptop Peppermint gave the correct monitor resolution (1280 x 800) in test mode, however after installing the only option is default monitor resolution 640×480 refresh 73. In test mode I was also able to choose a different screen resolution.
