Peppermint Mini (Public Beta) testing

The Peppermint Team would like to welcome the community to our beta testing for the Peppermint OS Mini Builds.

What are the Mini Builds?

The mini builds utilize the Debian installer for a net install. You can select from 64/32 bit Debian or Devuan. The ISOs are about 100 – 180 mb. These builds are intended for that user who really wants to control how their installs are conducted.

If you are familiar with the Debian installer you will be right at home here, but with a Peppermint take…
At a point during the install you will be able to select, whether or not you want the Peppermint standard install or you can select from other Desktops available. If you use Devuan you will be able to choose the init system that you prefer (SysIntV, Runit, or OpenRC)

Additionally you can choose to install as needed:

  • zoned storage
  • web server
  • SSH server

This is all beta, your feedback is welcome, please come over to the forums/matrix and provide as much feedback as you have time.

You can access the ISOs from here:
CodeBerg

Thank you! so much for your support and community efforts!

Hi. Yesterday I used this iso for a clean install of the cinnamon system and it works fine. The peppermint content seems to have installed correctly as well. But the strange thing was that I received several updates.
In the end, I got 1606 packages, for comparison the installation via debian netinstal required about 200 packages more. I am satisfied. From my user point of view the iso is ready to use.

A version for Raspberry Pie would be great.
