Today we would like to talk about PepVoid, a build branch we have been actively working. This effort began as an exploration to apply the Peppermint approach to the rolling release philosophy of Void Linux. Earlier this year , we made initial testing ISOs available to the community, and the response was invaluable. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to test those early builds and share their input.
Since then, we have continued refining this build as a way to explore new designs and ideas that can also be applied across the Debian family of Peppermint OS as tools become stable.
For this testing round, you can expect these ISOs to to be at around 3.2 GB, think of them as a “PepVoid Loaded 64 bit” spin. We are providing both Xorg and XLibre ISOs, please feel free to choose whichever build works best for your environment.
These ISOs come with a selection of preinstalled packages and the updated PepTools that have been modded a bit for users who prefer GUI interactions.

If you are testing the XLibre variant, you will also find the custom external XLibre repository at https://github.com/xlibre-void/xlibre/
Please keep in mind that the current lineup of preinstalled packages is subject to change as we gather and evaluate feedback from the community.

Depending on the feedback we receive, we are aiming for an official release in November. This timing would coincide nicely with the scheduled ISO refreshes for our Debian family builds. As always thank you so much for your ongoing support, and we look forward to hearing your feedback!
